Italian citizen charged with illegal re-entry

HARRISBURG, Pa. — An Italian citizen was charged Wednesday with illegal re-entry into the United States. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Philadelphia.

Luigi Coppola, 46, who was living in Chambersburg, was originally removed from the country in December 2007. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.

A defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
