This website is for any noncitizen who has been placed in removal proceedings and contains important information for noncitizens to complete necessary tasks related to the immigration process such as:

  • Updating Address with ICE – Expedite changes of address for noncitizens and information online to comply with immigration obligations.
  • Court Hearing Details – View your current court hearing details. Your court hearing is the chance for you to explain why you believe you are eligible for relief or protection from removal.
  • Scheduling or Changing Appointments – Check in with your local ICE office.

Additional Address Update Requirements

Updates must be made with each agency below within 5 business days of moving.

Schedule a Check-in Appointment FAQs

You may schedule your ICE check-in online from a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Scheduling your appointment online meets the requirements of your release even if:

  • You were given instructions at the border to report to ICE within a specific timeframe.
  • The next available appointments are later than the check-in deadline on your release paperwork.
  • Your current location is different from the location on your paperwork.

You do not need to call or appear in person at an ICE office to make an appointment.

Do I need to make an appointment with ICE?

Yes, you need to make an appointment with ICE if:

  • You do not already have an appointment. For example, if the paperwork you received at the border does not include a date and time for an ICE check-in.
  • You need to change the date of your appointment. For example, if your paperwork includes a date and time for an ICE check-in, but you are not able to appear at an ICE office that day.

No, you do not need to make an appointment if:

  • You already have an appointment. If your check-in appointment was scheduled as part of your release, you do not need to make a new appointment online. The date, time, and location are listed on your paperwork.
  • Your current location is different from the location on your paperwork. You do not need to reschedule your appointment. Report to an ICE office near you on that day.
  • You need to change your address. Contact the ICE Services Line at 1 (833) 383-1465.
  • You have previously completed an appointment with ICE. Follow any instructions provided by ICE from your appointment.

How do I schedule a new appointment?

Before you start, make sure you have the paperwork you received at the border. You can use it to find the Subject ID and birthplace you provided to agents at the border.

When you are ready to make your appointment, follow the written instructions below, or watch our [video instructions] to learn how to make an ICE check-in appointment online.

  • Get started.
    • Visit checkin.ice.gov.
    • Choose your preferred language.
    • Enter the Subject ID and place of birth listed on your paperwork.
    • Check the “I’m not a robot” box and complete the puzzle.
    • Click “Submit”.
  • Find an ICE office near you.
    • Enter your address, city, state, and/or zip code.
    • Click “Search”.
    • Click on one of the three ICE offices closest to the address you entered.
    • Click “Continue”.
  • Select an appointment time.
    • Select an appointment time from the list. Select the soonest available appointment to comply with your reporting requirements, even if it is later than the check-in timeline on your paperwork.
    • Click “Confirm” to review your appointment details.
    • Click “Confirm” to schedule the appointment, or click “Cancel” to go back to the calendar tool and pick another time.
    • The next screen will show your appointment details and a confirmation number.
    • Print, email, or text the details on that page to yourself. Or, write it down. Be sure to keep a record of this information in a way that’s easy for you to access.
  • Click “End Session” to close the schedule tool.

How do I reschedule, cancel, or review details of an existing appointment?

You need a new time for your appointment

  • If you cannot be at the ICE office at the time of your appointment, you can show up anytime that day to meet the requirements of your release.

Change the date of your appointment or cancel it

  • Visit checkin.ice.gov.
  • Choose your preferred language.
  • Enter the Subject ID and place of birth on your paperwork.
  • Select the “I am not a robot” button and complete the puzzle, then click “Submit” to view the details of your current appointment.
  • Select “Reschedule Your Appointment” or “Cancel Your Appointment” and follow the prompts.

How do I find my reporting location, date, and time?

If your ICE check-in was scheduled as part of your release, you can find the reporting location, date, and time on your paperwork.

Depending on the conditions of your release, your paperwork may not include a reporting date, location, and time. If so, you must make an appointment to meet the conditions of your release. You can do this online.

Schedule or Change an Appointment

Can I walk into an ICE office without an appointment?

Please make an appointment with ICE before showing up in person. Making an appointment online meets the requirements of your release, even if the next available appointment is later than the timeframe on your paperwork.

For example, if your paperwork says you must report to ICE within 60 days but the next available appointment is 120 days away – scheduling the next available appointment still meets the requirements of your release.

Additionally, if the next available appointment is after your parole expires, book the soonest available appointment to meet the conditions of your release.

Can I change the time of my appointment?

If you report to your appointment on the same date at the same location, even if it’s at a different time, you will meet the requirements of your release.

What if the next available appointment is later than the required check-in date on my paperwork?

To meet the requirements of your release, book the next available appointment. At some locations, the next available appointment may be a year away.

What if I cannot get an ICE check-in appointment until after my parole expires?

If you were released on Parole and Conditions to Detention (ATD), there is a parole timeframe on your paperwork.

To meet the requirements of your release, book the next available check-in appointment – even if it outside of the initial parole timeframe. You can request a parole extension at your check-in appointment.

If you have other questions about your parole, you are encouraged to find a lawyer. Visit the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) website to find a lawyer.

Can I use my appointment details to prove that I tried to meet the requirements of my release?

Yes. When you make your appointment online, you can print, email, or text a copy of your appointment details. It is important to keep a record of this information in a place that is easy for you to access.

Some of my paperwork is being held by a government agency. Can I get it back?

You can request your identification, passport, or other paperwork at your ICE Check-in appointment. ICE will review your request to determine if it can be returned or needs to continue to be held.

Change of Address FAQs

I have a Notice to Appear form (NTA/Form I-86), and my current address has changed. How do I update my address with ICE?

Within 5 days of an address change, call the ICE Services Line at 1 (833) 383-1465, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET.

I do not have an NTA, but my current address is different from what I provided at the border. How do I update my address with ICE?

Within 5 days of an address change, call the ICE Services Line at 1 (833) 383-1465, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET.

Do I need to change my address with other agencies, too?

Yes. Keep your address updated with ICE and other U.S. government agencies to make sure you do not miss any important communications or deadlines.

Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR)

Additionally, if you filed for a credible fear interview with USCIS, you need to change your address with them. Visit the USCIS website for instructions.

My address changes frequently. Should I update it every time I move?

Yes. Keeping your address updated helps to ensure you meet the requirements of your release.

If there is a place you can reliably receive mail (for example, a lawyer’s office), you can give that address to ICE, even if you do not live there.

I am a service provider (lawyer, NGO, etc) and my name/address was used on an NTA without my knowledge. What can I do?

Contact Office of Principal Legal Advisor’s Field Location (OFL) near you and provide them with the information you have. Find your local OFL contact information (available at the bottom of the page).
