Mexican citizen indicted for illegal re-entry

PHILADELPHIA — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced Oct. 22 that a 26-year-old Mexican citizen was charged with illegal re-entry into the United States.

According to the investigation, Bairon Morales-Morales was previously arrested and deported from the United States Nov. 21, 2006. He re-entered the United States illegally and was apprehended in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.

If convicted, Morales-Morales faces a maximum sentence of up to two years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

This investigation was conducted by ERO and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Alice Song Hartye.

Indictments and criminal informations are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
