Pennsylvania man charged with trafficking crack cocaine

SCRANTON, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man was charged Wednesday with trafficking crack cocaine following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE)

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Drug Enforcement Administration, Pennsylvania State Police, the Bureau of Narcotics Investigations and Berks County Detectives.

Jose Hernandez-Tirado, 34, of Brodheadsville, was arrested on July 2, 2013 at his residence, and charged with distributing the drugs during 2013.

Hernandez-Tirado faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine if he is convicted of the charge.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.

A defendant is innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
