As part of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) ongoing commitment to prioritizing the removal of criminal aliens and egregious immigration law violators, 40 convicted criminal aliens, immigration fugitives and immigration violators were arrested during a three-day operation in the greater Indianapolis area.

Edmundo Antonio Monroy Rivera was sentenced Monday to five years and 10 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute nearly 10 kilograms of cocaine in a case investigated by ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with the assistance of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

A Mexican national, Juan Ramon Garza, was sentenced Monday to six years and three months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana, and for bond jumping (failure to appear as required).
