Gary Michael Feroglia, 56, a previously convicted sexual predator in the United States, was also convicted in Mexico for possessing a firearm created solely for use by Mexican armed forces.
Victor Jerome Reza, 54, was also ordered to be placed on supervised release for 10 years after he completes his prison term, register as a sex offender, and pay a $1,000 fine. U.S. District Judge Philip R. Martinez also ordered Reza surrender to federal authorities before July 20 to begin serving his prison term.
David Alberto Canales, 47, pleaded guilty to these charges in August 2014 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Upon completion of his prison term, Canales will be removed from the United States.
The detective determined that Jeremiah Chayse Gardiner, of Mesquite, Texas, uploaded images of child pornography to a social networking application called Tumblr. On April 17, 2014, Mesquite detectives visited West Mesquite High School to speak with Gardiner and execute a search warrant on his cellphone.
Stanley Dan Reczko III, 50, who resided in the Koreatown District of Los Angeles, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge George H. King, who in March found the defendant guilty of producing child pornography while being required to register as a sex offender.
Daniel Frias Gomez, 23, of Columbus, Iowa, was sentenced May 15 by Senior U.S. District Judge George P. Kazen to 87 months for possession child pornography, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Gomez will also be required to register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty Dec. 4, 2013.
Daniel Brown, 26, of Taylor, South Carolina, was sentenced May 14 to 180 months in prison after a jury convicted him of conspiracy to advertise child pornography. On May 15, 2015, John Merchberger, 48, of Dayton, Maine, was sentenced to 220 months in prison and Marc Edoria, 24, of Elk Grove, California, was sentenced to 180 months in prison.
Angela S. Gasca, 10, and her siblings Diana K., 8, and Damian G., 2, went missing Feb. 5 and were believed to be endangered. The children were in the company of their mother, Amanda Ibarra Gasca, and Ivan Ruiz. All attempts to locate the children locally were unsuccessful. It was suspected that Gasca and Ruiz fled the United States with the three children to escape authorities and arrest warrants issued for Ruiz related to child abuse charges.
Randolph Felton, 36, from Noblesville, Indiana, was sentenced May 15 to 15 years in prison by U.S. District Chief Judge Richard L. Young after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography. This is Felton’s second conviction related to child pornography.
These indictments resulted from separate investigations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the FBI, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crime Task Force, the Joplin (Missouri) Police Department and the York Regional Police Service in Ontario, Canada.
Authorities arrested Matthew Krapf, 45, in November 2013, and later identified five victims and more than 2 million child pornography images in his possession.
Raymond Gajewski, 66, from Hammond, Indiana, pleaded guilty Dec. 4, 2014 to possessing child pornography; he was sentenced May 14 to 87 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark.
Paul R. Hinkel, 57, of Chester, Conn., was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Boston for traveling to Watertown in response to an advertisement on Craigslist in which a woman sought an adult man who might be interested in a sexual relationship with her child. The Craigslist ad was placed by undercover HSI special agents seeking to detect online predators.
Daniel T. Eckstrom, 32, of Lake Station, Indiana, was sentenced May 12 to 240 years in federal prison — to be followed by lifetime supervised release — for his nine criminal convictions for producing, distributing and possessing child pornography.
Arnold Bernard Conrad Jr., 52, of Jacksonville, was also ordered to serve a five-year term of supervision following his release, register as sex offender, forfeit his computer media and pay $9,000 in restitution to three victims.
The Scranton, Pennsylvania, residents were indicted April 28, 2015, by a federal grand jury for sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minor and related charges. Jimmy Cantelmo, aged 26, and Mark Matis "Koolaid," aged 26, allegedly conspired with each other and others to persuade a female minor to engage in prostitution and illegal sexual activity from February through August 2014.
Ronald L. Collins, 56, of Lincoln, was sentenced May 11 by U.S. District Judge Sue E. Myerscough to 300 months in federal prison. Collins was further ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and serve a lifetime of supervised release after he completes his sentence.
On Aug. 20, 2013, Gerardo Navarro-Rodriguez, 60, was arrested at his medical office in Caguas after an investigation revealed he allegedly induced, coerced and enticed at least one 17-year-old male minor to engage in commercial sexual acts. The investigation was spurred by a referral from the Puerto Rico Police Department.
Bailey Joe Mills, 34, received 45 years of imprisonment followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Mills’ wife, Elizabeth, was sentenced to 16 years followed by 10 years of supervised release. Both are required to register as sex offenders.
HSI special agents arrested Joed Torres-Monje, 34, following an investigation that revealed he utilized his personal computer to download child pornography via a peer-to-peer (P2P) platform, a network created when two or more computers are connected and share resources without going through a separate server computer.
Gary Allen George, 57, from Beaumont, was indicted by a federal grand jury May 6 and charged with receiving, distributing and possessing child pornography.
Jim Walter Qualls Jr., 28, was arrested on child pornography charges July 31, 2014, based on a criminal complaint charging him with receiving and distributing child pornography, possessing child pornography, and enticing a minor to engage in any sexually explicit conduct to produce visual images.
ICE arrests Caguas resident for sexually enticing a minor, attempted production of child pornography
HSI special agents arrested Francisco Alvarado-Cruz, 31, of Caguas, following a referral from PRPD’s Cyber Crimes Division regarding an investigation the division initiated to identify persons involved in the online victimization of children.
According to court documents, between Dec. 14, 2013, and March 14, 2014, David Wendel Thompson, 49, of Seffner, used Facebook to attempt to persuade two minor females in Belize, ages 13 and 15, to engage in sexual intercourse with him.
HSI Seoul began engaging Korean law enforcement authorities in December 2006 to make the possession of child pornography a felony in Korea. By June 2013, the National Assembly of Korea passed such a bill. Around the same time, HSI Seoul contacted NCMEC to begin receiving investigative leads with a nexus to South Korea.
