To the layman, world travel seems exotic, but to an IEA or DO, it means being away from family, their country and their home. It’s a sacrifice that takes a special kind of person – a person who works for something greater than himself or herself. It means missed birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and other notable milestones.
Irfan Ul Haq pleaded guilty in 2011 to providing material support to the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan, also known as the Pakistani Taliban, a designated foreign terrorist organization. As part of the guilty plea, Haq agreed to a stipulated order of removal upon the completion of his criminal sentence.
Mustasim Abdulaziz Alati, 24, was escorted by ERO officers and turned over to officials with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of the Interior (MOI) Feb. 12. Alati last entered the United States as a student Aug. 12, 2014 to attend the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.
Juan Manuel Larios-Buentello, 50, a Mexican national encountered in New Richmond, Wisconsin, was sentenced Feb. 12 by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 36 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States after having been deported. Larios-Buentello pleaded guilty to this charge Nov. 25.
Mohamed Admed Hassan Abdallah Omran, 38, of Egypt, was found guilty of two counts of failure to depart for resisting removal after final deportation orders. The defendant’s trial started Wednesday and ended Thursday with the jury returning the guilty verdict after deliberating for 10 minutes.
Marlon Joel Paz-Mendoza, 29, was convicted on murder charges and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by Honduran courts Sept. 5, 2013.
Wilmer Alexander Amaya Alas, 23, departed from Louisiana after leaving Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday. On Oct. 14, 2014, Amaya Alas was ordered removed from the country by an immigration judge. He appealed the immigration judge’s decision to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and on Jan. 2, 2015, the BIA dismissed the appeal, making the order of removal final.
Mahmoud Bazzi, 71, who is a native and citizen of Lebanon, admitted Aug.11, 2014, in immigration court proceedings that he repeatedly provided false and misleading testimony and submissions in order to obtain status in the United States.
Isaias Flores-Rosas, 45, a Mexican national, was sentenced Jan. 30 by U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to one year and one day in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States after having been deported. He pleaded guilty to this charge Nov. 17.
Edwar Alvarez-Garcia, 29, of El Salvador, illegally entered the United States near Laredo, Texas, in 2001.
Carlos Aragon-Carrillo, 30, and Juan Garcia-Rodriguez, 49, both Mexican citizens illegally residing in Laredo, were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Janis Graham Jack. Judge Jack sentenced Aragon-Carrillo to 77 months in federal prison.
Bardomiano Jungo, 36, was sentenced Jan. 27 by U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner to 121 months in federal prison without parole.
ERO officers transferred Sungwoo Kim, 49, and his brother Sungjoon Kim, 43, to the custody of the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) at Incheon International Airport Wednesday to face fraud charges. They were escorted by ERO officers on a commercial flight that departed Tuesday from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
ERO officers and HSI special agents worked closely with the HSI Brasilia Attaché Office and Interpol to track down Caylon Botelho Carreiro, 27, and Adilson Pires Ribeiro, 48. Both were arrested last week in Massachusetts.
Miguel Alexander Guevara-Quintanea, 22, was repatriated on board a charter flight coordinated by ERO’s Air Operations Unit.
Armando Palacios-Avalos, 34, aka Castro-Urbina and Edwin Eduardo, was flown to El Salvador Jan. 14 onboard a charter flight coordinated by ICE’s Air Operations (IAO) Unit. Upon arrival, Palacios-Avalos was turned over to officials from El Salvador’s Policia Nacional Civil (PNC).
ERO officers encountered Julio Gonzalez-Zamudio, 44, in January 2014 following his arrest by Oregon State Police. According to court documents, Gonzalez-Zamudio was a passenger in a vehicle police stopped on Interstate 5 in Douglas County.
Agustin Gomez Fernandez, 55, and Francisco Javier Figueroa Martinez, 27, were handed over to Mexican law enforcement officials at El Paso’s Stanton Bridge Port of Entry.
Enio Antonio Rodrigues, 48, departed from Miami after leaving Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday.
Luis Eduardo Lopez Silva, 34, was repatriated on board a charter flight coordinated by ERO’s Air Operations Unit. Upon arrival, ERO officers turned the suspect over to officials from the El Salvadoran Civilian National Police (PNC). Lopez Silva is wanted in his native country for a murder and attempted murder that occurred March 23, 2012.
Julio Cesar Miranda-Minero, 33, of El Salvador, illegally entered the United States near Nogales, Arizona, in 2007.
Luis Alonso Soto-Carreon, 50, from Chihuahua, Mexico, was arrested in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, by the ERO's Fugitive Operations Unit in Denver.
Pablo Alvaro Silos allegedly participated in the murder of a victim who died as a result of gunshot wounds.
Pedro Antiogenes Rosas-Astete, 54, of Peru, illegally entered the United States near Rio Grande City, Texas, in 2005.
Margarita Del Carmen Orellana Rivas, 25, was removed to El Salvador Nov. 26 via government charter flight from Dallas and was turned over to officials from El Salvador's Policia Nacional Civil (PNC). In addition to aggravated murder, she's also wanted for “crimes of solicitation and conspiracy in the crime of aggravated murder, aggravated murder as co-conspirator, and illegal gatherings.”
