HSI leads and participates in task forces that pool the resources and authorities of HSI and its partners and drive an effective, collaborative approach to investigating and stopping transnational crime.
We work closely not only with our federal, state, local, and international law enforcement partners, but also with private industry, academia, non-governmental organizations, and the public. This approach puts us in the best position to stop criminals, shut down their illegal networks, prevent future crimes, and provide justice to victims.

Border Enforcement Security Task Forces (BEST)
Combats transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) by identifying, investigating, disrupting and dismantling these organizations at every level of operation.
Counter-Human Trafficking Task Forces
Focuses on stopping sex trafficking and labor trafficking of both children and adults.
Document and Benefit Fraud Task Force
Targets and dismantles the transnational criminal organizations and individuals that threaten U.S. national security and public safety, and addresses vulnerabilities that exist in the immigration system.
El Dorado Task Force
Combats money laundering and financial crime.
Joint Terrorism Task Force
Targets the people, money and materials that support terrorist activities in the U.S. and abroad and is a key player in the global counterterrorism mission.
Transnational Criminal Investigative Units
Investigates and prosecutes individuals involved in transnational criminal activity.

Terry Pruitt, a conspirator in the sex and drug trafficking organization that operated out of the former Victory Inn hotel in Dearborn, Michigan, was sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison last week based on his conviction on drug trafficking charges.

Ron Aitkens was convicted of two offences under the Alberta Securities Act in July 2020. Canada-wide warrants were issued for his arrest after he failed to show up in court for sentencing. He was arrested in the United States and returned to Canada.
