HSI Criminal Analysts identify and analyze the most significant threats to the safety and security of the American public including terrorism and terrorist activities; financial crimes, money laundering and bulk cash smuggling; commercial fraud and intellectual property theft; cybercrimes including child exploitation and other Internet-enabled crime; human rights violations; human smuggling and trafficking; immigration, document and benefit fraud and more.

HSI Criminal Analysts are experts in criminal analysis: the comprehensive study of criminals and their networks, activities, associations, and impacts. Criminal Analysts are integral members of investigations and prosecutions teams; responsible for criminal analysis and intelligence work in support of a geographical and/or functional areas.
