ERO removes Honduran national wanted for organizing unlawful immigration
PHILADELPHIA — Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia removed a noncitizen foreign national from the United States wanted in Honduras for organizing unlawful immigration.
Ronald Alexander Rodriguez Fuentes and an ERO removal team departed from Harrisburg International Airport in Harrisburg via ICE Air, arriving at the Ramon Villeda Morales Airport in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Feb. 24. Upon arrival in Honduras, ERO turned Rodriguez over to the proper authorities.
“This example of a repeat immigration offender represents the work ERO conducts daily to combat unlawful migration,” said ERO Field Office Director Cammilla Wamsley. “ERO officers throughout the United States conducted enforcement actions for Mr. Rodriguez over the course of several years, each time culminating in his removal from the United States. I am proud of our officers’ dedication to the ERO mission, resulting in yet another return of Mr. Rodriguez Fuentes to Honduras where this time he will also face the consequences of endangering innocent people.”
U.S. Border Patrol first arrested Rodriguez Fuentes in April 1999 in Brownsville, Texas. He was released on recognizance in May of that year, and in August an immigration judge in Miami ordered Rodriguez Fuentes removed from the United States in absentia.
On March 5, 2008, ERO Washington arrested Rodriguez Fuentes in Manassas, Virginia, as an immigration fugitive, and in May authorities removed him to Honduras.
Rodriguez Fuentes illegally reentered the country near San Ysidro, California, on April 2, 2019, and border patrol agents arrested him. On Aug. 13 that year, an immigration judge ordered him removed and authorities returned him to his home country of Honduras on August 28.
On an unknown date and at unknown location, Rodriguez Fuentes reentered the United States without inspection, parole or admission by an immigration official. On Jan. 17, ERO Boston encountered Rodriguez Fuentes at a New Hampshire State Police traffic stop in Hillsborough County. On the same date, ERO Boston served Rodriguez Fuentes a Notice of Intent/Decision to Reinstate Prior Order, charging inadmissibility pursuant to the Immigration and Nationality Act.
On Jan. 18, ERO Boston checked records and discovered an Interpol Red Notice for Rodriguez Fuentes, a fugitive wanted by law enforcement authorities in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, for trafficking of illegal persons. ERO Boston transferred Rodriguez Fuentes to ERO Philadelphia for removal.
