Readout on Patrick J. Lechleitner’s visit to Atlanta, Ft. Moore

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Deputy Director and Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Patrick J. Lechleitner visited Atlanta and Ft. Moore in Georgia this week to host the agency’s annual Director’s Awards ceremony, the first of five ceremonies across the nation. Lechleitner also held town halls with Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement and Removal Operations personnel and toured the ICE Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs — a joint training center where HSI agents and ERO officers cultivate and refine their skills as federal law enforcement officers charged with enforcing the laws created by Congress. ICE’s apolitical national security and public safety mission revolves around its congressionally mandated authority to combat transnational crime, enforce immigration laws in the U.S. interior and preserve national security. During each town hall, Lechleitner engaged with law enforcement officers and support staff and spent time discussing their day-to-day work.
