HSI helps Ecuador Customs transition to new secure, web-based platform

HSI’s Trade Transparency Unit, in coordination with HSI Assistant Attaché Guayaquil, Ecuador, successfully transitioned Ecuadorian Customs May 7-9 to the new Data Analysis & Research for Trade Transparency System (DARTTS) World, an Internet-based platform hosted in a secure environment in the United States.

Ecuador is the first partner nation in South America to be transitioned to DARTTS World, a new Web-based platform that will afford foreign partners a more technologically dynamic system to include faster data updates, feature releases, ability for rapid data growth, and an overall faster and more efficient DARTTS.

HSI special agents and intelligence analysts conducted field-delivered training for users at the Ecuadorian Customs facilities (Servicio Nacional de Aduana del Ecuador-SENAE) in Guayaquil on the updated technical capabilities of DARTTS World.

This new platform will assist in the detection of trade and financial discrepancies indicative of trade-based money laundering and other financial crimes, as well as further promote HSI’s international cooperative efforts.
