Update: 'John Doe' captured after ICE receives multiple tips from public

SHREVEPORT, La. — The manhunt for a "John Doe," a suspected child predator in northern Louisiana, ended late Monday, less than four hours after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) issued a public appeal for information about his identity and whereabouts.

"John Doe" was arrested Monday evening at a residence near Jonesboro after HSI received nearly 50 tips from the public via the HSI Tip Line.

The arrest warrant for "John Doe" was signed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. At that time, HSI had no information about the identity of the suspect, but based upon GPS data in two child pornography videos, investigators believed he lived in or traveled to the Jonesboro area.

All details about the arrest and the identity of "John Doe" are being withheld pending his initial appearance in federal court.
