Super Bowl LIX

We’re focused on your safety, so you can focus on the score.

With the NFL playoffs over, both teams are preparing and so is HSI. As the federal coordinator for Super Bowl LIX, HSI has partnered with the NFL and federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to ensure the sports arena, workers, volunteers, athletes and spectators are safe and secure as we close in on the opening kickoff for Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Super Bowl is one of the largest sporting events in the world. This year, an estimated 100,000 people will travel to New Orleans for game weekend, while millions more will watch from home or attend Super Bowl parties globally.

Protecting the homeland and defending Americans from global threats is at the core of HSI’s mission. As a high-profile event, the Super Bowl aligns with this mission. HSI investigates crime globally — at home, abroad, and online — to prevent harm in local communities. With its broad authorities and advanced investigative capabilities, HSI remains a crucial component in safeguarding the nation against evolving threats.

Increased Security

Leading up to the game, expect an increased law enforcement presence, expanded operations and enhanced security measures throughout the city. Following the January 1, 2025, terrorist attack in New Orleans, HSI and its partners are reassessing and reinforcing security measures for all upcoming events, including Super Bowl LIX.

Contact local law enforcement if you witness something concerning or call 911 if you believe there is immediate danger. Go to ready.NOLA.gov to sign up for safety alerts.

Hundreds of HSI special agents, criminal analysts and support staff are working around the clock to provide physical security and intelligence assessments—ensuring a safe environment before, during and after the game, whether you’re watching in the stadium or at home.

HSI SAC DeLaune as Federal Coordinator

A federal coordinator (FC) is appointed for each Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR) event. Whenever possible, the FC is selected from within the event’s region for localized expertise and faster response.

The federal coordinator for Super Bowl LIX is HSI SAC Eric DeLaune. SAC DeLaune was born and raised in Louisiana, beginning his career in local law enforcement before becoming a federal agent. He understands how community is the fabric that holds us all together.

New Orleans is unlike anywhere else, and SAC DeLaune and his team of special agents, criminal analysts and support staff use their deep local knowledge to address the public safety issues that matter to our communities.
