The ICE Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Office serves those seeking more information about ICE and its operations by providing accurate information about agency functions and operations without compromising privacy, national security or the ICE mission. The FOIA Office is a centralized office that receives, tracks and processes all FOIA requests according to the law. Anyone can request access to federal agency records or information under federal FOIA law. Federal agencies are required to disclose records upon receiving a written request for them, except for those records that are protected from disclosure by any of the nine exemptions or three exclusions under the FOIA. This right of access is enforceable in court.
