- Weekday visitation is available Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. by submitting a request to the Warden. Although we make every attempt to accommodate such visits they are subject to availability of the Visitation Room and the security requirements of the facility.
- Detainees are allotted one hour for visitation. More time may be authorized by the Assistant Warden for family members traveling significant distances dependent upon the number of visitors and staff availability. A maximum of two adults and two children may visit at any one time. This regulation will be interpreted flexibly and is subject to exceptions.
- To ensure adequate time to process visitors through security, all visitors must arrive 45 minutes prior to the scheduled visit time.
Adult visitors must present a valid, verifiable government-issued identification card to enter the facility.
Minors who are visiting the facility must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). Minors must not be left unaccompanied in the waiting room, visiting room or any other area.
Attorney Visits
In-Person Legal Visitation
Legal representatives of detainees are authorized to visit their clients during the following hours: Seven days a week from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., including holidays.
Remote Legal Visitation
Attorneys and accredited representatives must request virtual meetings or confidential legal calls with their clients at least 24 hours in advance of the requested session by email at ppipcnotify@geogroup.com. Virtual meetings may take place Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. and be completed by 7 p.m., Central Time.
This email address is the primary means for scheduling attorney legal calls and will also be utilized to schedule VTC visits.
The email should include:
- the detainee client’s name
- alien number
- a few proposed times/dates for the requested VTC session
- the attorney’s Microsoft Teams address
- a scan of the attorney’s ID
- a scan of the attorney’s bar card
- a scan of the attorney’s ICE Form G-28 (unless this is the initial attorney/client consultation
If a legal assistant will join the call, the email should also attach a letter of authorization on the firm’s/organization’s letterhead and a scan of the assistant’s ID. The PPIPC staff person will email attorneys back with a confirmed date and time. All legal call and VTC requests received will be placed on the schedule within 48 hours of receipt. An acknowledgement of the scheduled placement will be sent to the requesting party confirming. The Point of Contact (POC) for VTC or legal calls is the Records Clerk (337) 599-2198 or Assistant Facility Administrator (337) 599-2198 to report any issues you may have concerning legal calls or sessions.
The same guidelines for in-person attorney/client visits will apply to VTC sessions and legal calls. Only attorneys, legal assistants, and interpreters will be allowed; no family or friends of the clients are allowed. The attorney and/or his/her agents may contact outside interpretation services during the call or session. The sessions will be confidential; a visitation officer will be stationed outside of the confidential room to ensure security.
The ppipcnotify@geogroup.com email address will also be the point of contact to raise any issues regarding technical issues for troubleshooting. PPIPC’s direct phone line for the IT Manager is (337) 599-8090, which can also be used to report technical difficulties. Please note the IT Manager works Mon-Fri from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Should an issue arise outside of normal business hours please contact the switch board operator and ask for the shift supervisor.
- VTC or legal call communications will not be recorded or stored in any way.
- Visits will be scheduled for 1 hour. Additional time can be added if requested.
Detainee Telephone System Pro-Bono Platform List
A list of pro bono (free) legal organizations will be posted in all detainee housing units and other appropriate areas. This list shall be updated quarterly. If a detainee wishes to see a representative or paralegal from that organization, it is the detainee’s responsibility to contact them for an appointment.
Facsimile Communication
When timely communication through the mail is not possible, the facility administrator may in his discretion allow for a reasonable amount of communication by means of facsimile device between the detainee and his/her designated legal representatives. Detainees can send all electronic communication requests to their assigned case manager for processing. Attorneys can send legal correspondence for facsimile services through the following fax number (337) 599-2167. The legal representative must include a cover letter with all legal documentation sent via facsimile. The cover sheet shall include the following for appropriate processing: Receiving Detainee Full Name, Receiving Detainee Alien Number, Senders Return Fax Number, and the number of pages sent. While the facility will always attempt to ensure confidentiality is maintained with legal documentation, utilizing facsimile services does not guarantee confidentiality. It is highly recommended that all sensitive items containing confidential matters be processed through the facility's legal mail process utilizing the U.S. Postal Service. All legal faxes sent and received through the mailroom will be documented in a logbook processed by the mailroom staff and/or designated program’s staff. All facsimile legal electronic communication requests will be processed during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. excluding holidays. The transmission verification report which indicates that the fax was successfully sent will be maintained and filed by mailroom staff and/or designated program’s staff.
Consular Visits
Consular officials may meet with their detained nationals at any time. It is requested that prior arrangements be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer to the extent possible, and that consular officials bring appropriate credentials when they come to the facility. Clergy Visits
Clergy may visit detainees at any time, but must make prior arrangements with the Chaplain’s Office.
Visiting Restrictions
- All family or other social visits are Non-contact.
- No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted in the facility.
- If visitors are or appear to be intoxicated, visitation will not be allowed.
- All visitors are subject to search while in the facility.
- Visitors are not allowed to pass or attempt to pass any items to detainees.
- Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visitation area.
Search Procedures (prior to or during all visitations)
All individuals requesting admittance to the facility or the visitation area are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. Individuals refusing to cooperate with a reasonable search will not be admitted. No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted in the secure areas of this facility.
