Readout of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement participation in IACP Conference

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials from the agency’s two operational directorates, Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations, participated in the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Expo in Boston from Oct. 9 to Oct. 22.

ERO, which operates 25 field offices across the United States, participated in a record number of roundtables and presentations primarily aimed at cultivating relationships between ICE and state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies. To promote transparency, ERO representatives discussed ERO’s statistical dashboard, where the public can access information on arrests, detention and removal. As an apolitical agency designed to protect the American public, ICE enforces the laws that Congress enacts to promote public safety, national security and border security.

HSI also presented significant initiatives, including the Department of Homeland Security’s Know2Protect campaign, the directorate’s fight against transnational criminal organizations and its Victim Assistance Program, which connects federal crime victims with resources they need.
